TaylorMade TP Rescue review

For the past couple of seasons I have found it hard to put down my Nickent rescue 2 iron. Just like many of you over the past 3 seasons I have replaced my longer irons with hybrids for the obvious reason that it is just a heck of a lot easier to hit from many different lies. The look of the new TaylorMade Rescue TP is a very clean simple look which is great at address. What I look for in a hybrid is ball flight control. Many hybrids are built to create a high draw ball flight which in my case can lead to a high hook. The new TaylorMade was created for the better player to lower and create a more penetrating ball flight. I noticed this difference right away in comparing it to my Nickent and Rescue Dual TP. The second factor was how easy it is to work right to left and especially left to right. I found this to be very easy to work both ways while staying away from the big dreaded hybrid hook that we all see from time to time. The size of the head was similiar to my Nickent which is more on the smaller side. The bottom line is, If you feel your hybrid ball flight is too high and you have a hard time with its workability this may be the hybrid for you. I also had a few of my students test it out. The better players absolutely loved it while the higher handicappers struggled with creating a good launch angle. Try it out for yourself at a TaylorMade demo day near you.
